Frequently Asked Questions
MR Safety Training is a Yorkshire based training provider, established in 2006, providing professional safety training courses delivered by experienced instructors for a realistic price.
We are passionate about the quality of training we offer to a wide range of industry sectors including; Childcare, Schools, Leisure & Hospitality, Care, NHS, Manufacturing, Recruitment, Security, Community Groups, and Charities.
Whilst we meet all legislative requirements and adhere to the guidance of the Health & Safety Executive (HSE), the Department for Education (DFE), UK Resuscitation Council, OFSTED, CQC, we are also regulated by a variety of OFQUAL approved Awarding bodies including Highfield Qualifications
Our trainers come from a wide variety of backgrounds with high levels of knowledge, these include teaching, leisure, public services, lifeguarding, security, and fire service.
Since the date of our inception, we have learnt to tailor our training to the group of learners, so each course we deliver is slightly different to the next. However we never lose sight of being thorough and as interactive as possible. We use different delivery aids; books, handouts, dvds, games and practical activities to ensure learning is at it’s best.
Courses start promptly at 9.30am. It is strongly recommended to arrive 15 minutes early for registration. If a learner is more than 30 minutes late, they will be turned away and need to re-book to attend another course.
There are typically 3 comfort breaks during a day’s course. 1 mid morning and 1 mid afternoon, these are 10-15 minutes each. Lunch break is in the middle of the day for around 30 minutes.
We commonly get asked this. We try to make course as enjoyable as possible and not focus on any form of formal assessment. Assessment is usually carried out by the trainer by use of Q&A and practical activities. However, for statutory compliance courses ie Fire Marshal, Health & Safety, First Aid at Work, Paediatric First Aid, and Food Safety there is a multiple choice question paper to complete in order to pass the course. A good understanding of English is required, and for our glass wearers, don’t forget your glasses!!
Unfortunately we cannot accept children on our courses due to Safeguarding reasons.
This is absolutely fine as we are inclusive to everyone and we respect individual needs, but we will need advance notice at the time of booking.
It happens; illnesses, issues with childcare, etc, so don’t worry. For genuine instances we can re-schedule your training, given enough notice (see our cancellation policy here). For our open courses we cannot offer refunds but you are more than welcome to send a replacement learner to the course.
We are now sending certificates via email after the course has been completed. This is more convenient for our customers, and reduces our carbon footprint.
Don’t worry! Just contact us, and we’ll happily replace your certificate for you. There is an administration charge for this service, see more information here
